The American writer Jack London in his antiutopian novel The Iron Heel describes with an impressive accuracy the society that appeared in two Europe countries after the political parties, which had called themselves labour, came to power. With devastating criticism he shows American imperialism, power of monopolies and system of white slavery, exploitation of women and children and awful life of poor people. On the basis of a wide variety of documents, the author reveals class nature of bourgeois morals, corruption in the court that uses false witness and assists the church. The author tried to show the events of universal importance, colossal cataclysms that affect the society. Nowadays the novel is still relevant.
