An Offer From a Gentleman is a novel by American writer Julia Quinn published in 2001. It is the third novel in the Bridgerton saga. The book is set between 1815 and 1817 and tells the story of Benedict Bridgerton, second son of the Bridgerton family. Benedict falls in love with Sophie Beckett, illegitimate daughter of Count Richard Gunningworth, and now maid and guest of his second son Bridgerton.
