The Game is a novel by an American writer Jack London about twenty-year-old boxer Joe, who decides to leave the ring. This work is contradicted to bourgeois novella that glorifies trading and business, it criticises commercialism in sports. ??? author proved that described by him events were true. Jack London used to be the observer of boxing matches for the Oakland Herald and took himself interest in boxing, and based on his experience he described the conditions of life and relationships between sportsmen, the death on the ring wasn't a fantasy but a real fact from life.
